I have always been active. When I was younger, I played softball, did gymnastics, and swam. When I was older I participated in martial arts and volleyball, however I had difficulty maintaining an healthy weight. I tried personal trainers, which worked, but the results didn’t stick.
Then on the first hot day of the year in 2013, I discovered Crossfit North Industry and never left. Crossfit has provided me with a whole new healthy lifestyle that has stuck as well as a supportive community that has become family. This led me to go and become certified as a coach.
Currently, I work as an Autism consultant for Wayne-Westland Community School District. Prior to that I was a special education classroom teacher, where I used physical activity to help the students learn and retain new skills and information.
Having the skills and knowledge to work with children of all ages and abilities naturally led me to go and become certified in Crossfit Kids. I am excited to share Crossfit with the kids and show them how much fun it can be!
