Heads up! There are only three kinds of people in the world (in our eyes). Don’t believe us? Read on to see if you agree!
A. People who don’t exercise. All good with us. Of course, we believe everyone should exercise and take care of their body, but we fully support an individual’s right to do what they want with their body. It’s theirs, right? Sure is.
B. People who exercise. This is great. They get up and go to a Bootcamp, or yoga, or run, or spin, or work hard in the yard. Moving is without a doubt a key component of health and pays big dividends. People do this most of the time to burn calories with the goal of losing weight. Great. We encourage everyone to get up and move.
C. People who train. Training is exercise with all of its benefits. Training however has one major difference—training has purpose, and the purpose is improving how your body works. Whether you’re training for a marathon, or to deadlift 500 pounds, you’re exercising to enable your body to do something.
When you come to CrossFit North Industry, you are training as well. You are in our GPP program, which stands for General Physical Preparedness. A GPP program helps train your body to be generally physically prepared to do anything—playing with the kids, or dog, or cat, or your favorite sport. Or just to get your body stronger and more able because you’d rather be stronger than weaker. In a nutshell, it’s training to improve how well your body works and functions in your daily life. Awesome. Plus, you can lose weight as well if that is one of your goals.
So, know that when you come to North Industry, you’re working towards improving the function of your body. You are training it to be a better body to be in. And we think that’s pretty cool. Welcome aboard.
For a healthier future through personal responsibility,
Dennis Fenrich
