Before I found CrossFit I had been lifting & a local gym to get back in shape. The plan back then was focusing on quitting smoking & eating better & do a Tough Mudder run.
One day a family member, who was training at a local affiliate spiked my attention with a little triplet of Pullups, pushups & running @3 rounds. So we threw down in his garage gym.
This was about 3 years ago now. I forget the rep scheme but it was hard. Still had not quit smoking & all I remember was puking & not being able to do the last run. I was cooked & hooked.
Every Thursday for months we continued, trying new things. New movements & new challenges. I couldn’t beat him but I felt stronger & stopped smoking to try to beat him.
CrossFit has challenged me from day 1 & made me a stronger, healthier & better human because of it.
What I love about CrossFit is the community, socialization aspect. Helping push others & teaching others is huge. Accountability. I have never been a part of something like it. Being part of something that is driving us all in such a positive way to be the best we can if we just give it our all. Let’s see what these human bodies are capable of.
The pain always shows up, will you show up to fight?
